Shaibal is an expert in database optimization and mobile messaging.
His first startup was acquired by Netscape in 1997, and the technology went on to become one of the first web mail systems.
His second startup, acquired by RIM, catapulted the BlackBerry’s growth from 400,000 corporate email accounts into 400 million consumer email accounts during his tenure as Chief Architect of BlackBerry (2002-2006). Shaibal holds 47 published US Patents and applications.
Shaibal is a Silver Medalist from the Indian Institute of Technology – Kharagpur and completed his PhD in Computer Science from Stanford University.
